About Navtex Online
Navtex Online is all about NAVTEX: the navigational warnings, weather forecasts, ice reports and search-and-rescue messages that coast stations broadcast to ships around the world. It sets out to be the most complete, accurate and easy-to-use place for NAVTEX online.
Messages come from official sources, such as stations' own transmit logs, national and NAVAREA warning lists and weather services, and from receivers that publish what they hear. Every copy is kept: the cleanest is shown, with the official text where one exists, next to a readable version that writes out the abbreviations. Stations, broadcast times, a map and a searchable archive complete the picture.
It is built for sailors planning a passage, people ashore following conditions, and anyone without a NAVTEX receiver at hand. All sources are credited on data sources.
The site is built to work on slow and limited connections such as satellite internet: pages carry no images or web fonts and almost no JavaScript.
